This post-merger integration survey takes the pulse of the workforce during the transition. It's a structured questionnaire — 26 rating questions on a 1-to-5 agree/disagree scale, each with room for comments, plus five open-ended questions.

The survey first examines whether leadership has successfully explained the merger. It asks if employees understand the purpose of the deal, if they believe it will create value, and if they have a clear picture of the combined company's vision and culture. The answers show whether uncertainty is lingering.

The focus then shifts to everyday work. Employees rate whether they understand the their role in the new organization and the clarity of business processes. These questions can expose the confusion that can slow an integration even when a deal's strategy is sound.

The survey then turns to how employees feel about the future. Pointed questions ask whether employees expect good career opportunities, feel excited about NewCo, and — bluntly — expect to still be there in 12 months.

The final section moves beyond ratings and and asks open-ended questions. Answers to "What concerns do you have?" and "What questions remain unanswered?" uncover issues that scorecards rarely capture—rumors, uncertainties, and specific frustrations.

Taken together, the ratings and written comments provide leadership useful insight for their next round of messaging.
