IT Post-Merger Integration Planning and Execution
IT is the post-merger integration workstream that enables every other function to operate.
Pre-Close, the groundwork begins: a comprehensive task-by-task integration plan tracking milestones, owners, risk levels, and synergy estimates across governance, due diligence, and Day 1 readiness. Every engineer, systems manager, and vendor relationship owner is aligned on what's required for continuity and security.
From Day 1 through Week 1, the focus is on minimum viable access. Ensures every acquired employee can authenticate, reach their email, log into core applications, and get help desk support from the moment the deal is closed, with clear employee-facing FAQs and a communication guide covering every system change from VPN migration to device updates.
From Day 8 to 100, the technical integration is completed: rationalization of the application portfolio, consolidation of infrastructure, migration of data, decommission of duplicate systems, and IT synergy attainment.
Given that IT's success is critical to success of all functions, the below deliverables are especially important.
