The presentation answers the question whether Human Resources is ready for Day 1.

The following are the titles and summaries of several of the slides:

  • Day 1 Readiness: Eighteen critical pre-close activities are completed before the readiness gate, including establishing the HR hotline, completing payroll registrations, building the employee directory, confirming benefits, and finalizing the interim organization structure.
  • Day 1 & Week 1 Execution: HR follows a carefully sequenced launch plan—briefing managers before the employee announcement, delivering CEO and CHRO welcome messages, launching onboarding and the employee intranet, and concluding the first week with a town hall that addresses employees' most important questions.
  • Communications Strategy: A structured communication cascade ensures every audience hears the news from the right source at the right time. Steering Committee members brief managers, managers brief employees, supporting resources go live on the intranet, and a Week 1 town hall reinforces key messages with FAQs, benefits information, and a fully staffed HR hotline.
  • People & Organization: The interim organization gives every employee a clear reporting relationship on Day 1, while retention plans protect key talent, workforce changes follow legally reviewed processes, and culture assessment results help shape the onboarding experience.
  • Compensation & Benefits: Payroll, benefits enrollment, retirement communications, and employee support materials are fully prepared for Day 1, while compliance activities covering 409A, 280G, COBRA, ERISA, and I-9 requirements remain under active oversight.
  • Key Risks & Mitigations: Most operational risks—including HRIS integration, payroll funding, and state registrations—have already been resolved. The primary remaining focus is retaining key talent during the critical first 30 days following close.

The presentation closes with confirmation that HR is Day 1 ready — systems are tested, processes are in place, communications are prepared, and employees have the support they need to transition confidently into the combined organization.
