Every integration needs a true starting gun for the workstreams. This deck is it.

Seven agenda items unfold in a deliberate sequence, moving from deal context to next steps. Each builds on the last, giving every workstream lead the knowledge they need before planning begins. The session starts with the deal's value drivers, so everyone understands why the acquisition was made and what the integration must deliver. Next come the guiding principles that establish how decisions will be made and how teams are expected to work together. From there, the agenda covers governance, meeting cadence, the integration timeline, pre-close regulatory requirements, the tools that standardize planning and reporting, and next steps.

The value driver framework focuses on three priorities.

  • Employee engagement: satisfaction, culture integration, retention, and responsiveness to employee feedback.
  • Customer satisfaction: delivering best-in-class service across every division, business unit, and location.
  • Synergy realization: capturing new revenue through cross-selling and customer acquisition while reducing costs across staffing, facilities, IT, and vendor management.

Guiding principles are organized into three simple questions: What? Why? How?

The What defines the principles—empower rapid decision-making, leave personal agendas behind, and respect the legacy of both organizations.

The Why explains their purpose: protect the customer experience and give integration teams the confidence to act.

The How provides the roadmap: begin with the investment thesis, align to the integration objectives, test decisions against both organizations' values, involve key stakeholders, and refine the principles until genuine consensus is reached.

This kickoff aligns the entire integration organization around a shared understanding of what they're doing, why it matters, and how they'll work together to succeed.
