This Word document provides the core messages that explain why an acquisition happened, what it means, and where the combined company is headed. It gives leaders a narrative they can use to communicate with confidence.

The story begins with the strategic rationale. The acquisition expands the company's reach into the mid-market—a recurring revenue opportunity of approximately $50 million that would have taken years to build organically. Rather than starting from scratch, the acquisition provides an established customer base, proven products, and an experienced team with immediate market credibility.

The deal is a strategic fit. The acquirer serves large enterprise customers with sophisticated financial controls and highly configurable solutions. The acquired company serves smaller organizations with tools designed for estimating, scheduling, and contracting. Together, the two businesses create a broader product portfolio, expand market coverage, and strengthen the company's competitive position without significant overlap.

Success will be defined in measurable business terms. Key objectives include retaining the acquired customer base, minimizing employee attrition, integrating a high-performing sales and marketing organization, and providing the financial resources needed to launch a stronger, more competitive combined brand.

Finally, the document outlines a comprehensive communication strategy. Managers serve as employees' primary source of information, supported by executive messages, town halls, webcasts, monthly updates, FAQs, and other communication channels that will keep stakeholders informed. The goal is simple: provide clear, timely, and consistent communication to replace employee uncertainty with confidence.

An acquisition succeeds only when people understand where the organization is going and believe they have a place in that future. This messaging helps leaders tell that story consistently, building the trust, alignment, and commitment needed to turn a signed transaction into a successful integration.
